will announce their run for the state legislature at McCormick’s Cafe, 2419 Montana Avenue.

The legislators announcing in Billings Thursday are joined by their Democratic counterparts
announcing their bid for the legislature at news conferences in Bozeman, Butte, Helena,
Great Falls, and Missoula. Altogether, dozens of Democratic candidates from across the
state are filing to run for office Thursday, the first day candidates can file for election.

KFBB in Great Falls reported Governor Schweitzer used his line-item veto authority on Wednesday, May 4th, to strike a provision embedded in House budget bill 604. The provision would have levied a 2.75 percent tax on workers’ compensation insurance to pay off an account from the old State Fund insurance program. more
